ADDICTED – coupon savings & sale searching

When your goals are set in place and you begin to evaluate steps to reaching those goals, often times your spending habits are the first to slide under the microscope. A large percent of your goals will require some sort of financial changes in order to have the money to accomplish said goals. Therefore, spending habits are on the chopping block.

If you are like me, you are constantly looking for ways to make money and now save money. You probably already have plenty of ideas on how you can achieve more income, less spending and more saving. I’ve always wanted to learn how to extreme coupon but the thought intimidated me somewhat and being a less prepared rushed shopper, I’ve refrained from trying.

UNTIL NOW!

I joined Tik Tok, an app where you usually lip sync to songs or do silly dances and basically the new version of Vine. I know you are wondering how an app that has nothing to do with coupons or saving money would inspire couponing but it did. While scrolling through my feed, there were ladies sharing the sales of the week and how to use manufacturer coupons with digital coupons and shared all of the products they acquired with such little out of pocket contribution.

Intrigued, I started following more and more coupon Queens and saw many of the items on my shopping list on sale and in their photos. The bulb went off and I felt compelled to give it a try. I live near Dollar General so that was my first stop and the easiest coupon experience.

Dollar General’s app is so easy to use! You select the coupons you are interested in, create a shopping list and once you get there, scan your items to review your cart and determine whether the items you are purchasing are a part of the coupon AND it shows you your grand total!

I only purchased 2 Gain dish detergents, 1 bag of Tide Pods, 1 box of Gain dryer sheets, and a Gain fabric softener which came up to $10 after all the coupons were applied but I was proud of my savings and found my confidence in trying out the whole couponing technique.

The nervousness of my couponing was gone at that point. I did not print any coupons for this trial run but ordered inserts for my next attempt at EXTREME COUPINNG. The next trip I will have my inserts and show you the results of my MEGA savings!
